I will stamp all over 'legitimate fighter' Paul - Joshua
The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-bout contest which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.
British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "stamp all over" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to publicize the upcoming boxing match.
Former twice unified title holder Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's venue on 19 December.
Fighter's Mindset
"I'm going to break his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, stated.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I intend to seriously aim to injure him. That's what I want to do."
Civil Exchange
Despite those words, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually famous for his dramatics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul instead targeted former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, criticized UK opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua stated.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Opponent
In spite of stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he remarked.
Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.
He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in last year.
Commercial Success
Nevertheless, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, consistently making substantial financial rewards.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old anticipated a KO victory in rounds four or five and claimed he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly in the works for two years from now.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.
Physical Disparity
As Joshua and Paul engaged in the usual stare-down, with their physical disparity on show, it drove home just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the match is truly happening.
